Two things about ‘Delusions Of Grandeur’: firstly, this is going to be really good live – you can just tell by the power in their voices and the energy in their playing that the atmosphere will be incredible for both the band and the audience. Second, the use of instruments is very egalitarian – from a musician’s point of view, every instrument sounds great fun to play on this track with each member of the band getting a chance to showcase their talent.
It’s always great to hear a song where the bass guitar does more than just prop up the percussion. Nicole starts with a great intro that’s reminiscent of Neil Young and then goes full thrash once the rest of the band kicks in. This is an all-round great piece of music and I can’t wait to hear more from Bad Waitress.
