If your first introduction to ‘Telling Tales’ by Irish duo Song Sung is the twisted, spinning video that accompanies the track (see below) then you could be forgiven for thinking you are seeing double. But you’re not. Song Sung are twins Georgina and Una McGeough.
So whilst the video may be a little uneasy to watch the song is an absolute pleasure to listen to. Reminding very much of acts like the Cocteau Twins (twins!), the track is a lush, dreamy ride, floating along on top of a cloud looking down on the world without a care in the world. Ethereal, heavenly and charming.
Talking about the song the band had the following to say –
“‘Telling Tales’ is the result of a melodic collision – it’s a dream, a memory, a voyage that exists inside a reverberating loop. This track reverts back to how we initially began making music and our continuous quest to find the melody within a melody.“
‘Telling Tales’ is taken from Song Sung’s debut album ‘This Ascension Is Ours’ which is released July 31st via Night Time Stories.
